Stoneraise, Wreay & District WI

Veronica Perrin Members on trip to Alnwick - June 2011

Where we meet:

Stoneraise Primary School Hall, south of Durdar crossroads.

When we meet:

2nd Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm

About Us:

Since Stoneraise & District WI enlarged with Wreay WI in October 2009 the larger attendance at meetings has reinvigorated the WIs and there is a friendly buzz around the room on our meeting nights.  Our varied programme in 2011 had something to suit everyone.  It is difficult to pick out one particular topic, however, the sight of every member belly dancing was memorable!  With Veronica Perrin (photo above) we shared a multicultural experience in music and dance with instruments, costumes and artefacts from around the world.  We were blessed on our visit to Alnwick with perhaps the best day's weather of the summer (see photo above).

The WI's membership is mainly from the communities of Blackwell, Brisco, Durdar and Wreay.  We are a friendly group who enjoy each other's company and shared interests and would welcome anyone who is considering joining. Don't let the rural location deter you - our members can help with transport. For further information about joining us, please email the secretary or contact CCFWI office.
